Our firewood is kiln-dried which provides a consistent, long-lasting burn so they are ideal logs for woodstoves and open fires, chimineas, pizza ovens, smokers and campfires.
All our kiln-dried oak, ash and birch provides a consistent, long-lasting burn but hardwoods do differ slightly, that's why we offer a mixed load.
A mixed load is half oak or ash and the other half is birch.
Oak is a dense hardwood with a tighter grain which means it takes longer to light, but has an unmatched burn duration once lit.
Ash is again a very high quality hardwood and will burn at a steady rate.
Birch lights easier and is quicker to get up to temperature so together with either ash or oak you get the best of both.
Just ask your delivery driver to show you the difference, as they look quite different.
Yes, at Nutwood we ensure that every load of firewood is only from sustainably managed woodlands.

We only sell wood that meets the top industry criteria for clean burning.
We have reduced our packaging, we recycle our packaging and have instigated re-use systems.

We use technology and organisation to minimise energy needs and fuel use.
When storing logs inside make sure your Ready to Burn logs are stored away from other combustible material in a safe place, away from sources of ignition.
When storing logs outside remember your product needs to be carefully stored to ensure it doesn't re-absorb moisture and deteriorate. Follow these guidelines:
1. Your wood should be protected from rain and not left open to the elements.
2. Keep your wood off the ground (like on a pallet) so that air can circulate underneath. Do not store it on moist ground.
3. Make sure any cover is not wrapped too closely as air needs to circulate.
At Nutwood we go to great lengths to ensure our kiln-dried hardwood is at its best on delivery. Having been kiln-dried it is then stored in a dry and sealed unit. It is then loaded under cover and covered again whilst transported whatever the weather so ensuring your wood stays beautifully dry and ready to burn. Just ask your delivery driver, they will be happy to advise you regarding your firewood storage.
